Chesapeake Crossing is a CRHA managed housing community. It is a community for adults 55 years of age and older.
Chesapeake Crossing is made up of three sections:
- Phase I - 159 units
- Phase II - 135 units
- Phase III - 228 units
A nine member staff manages the apartment community. The combined staff perform the following essential functions:
- General property management duties related to leasing activities, rent collection, evictions and move-outs
- Maintain the grounds
- Maintain the apartment units and supplied appliances in decent working order
- Ensure resident compliance with the lease
- Alarm systems are available for each unit along with emergency pull cords that are monitored 24 hours a day
- Planned social activities and field trips monthly
- Produce and distribute a monthly newsletter and calendar
- Also available to the tenants is shuttle service to the grocery store provided by Farm Fresh
The Crossings is a privately owned tax credit community. As a tax credit the owners must comply with restrictions set forth by the IRS. (i.e.: income restrictions for tenants) In return for complying with the restrictions, the owners are able to receive tax credits at the end of the year.
